Changes: Special Candy

A special candy is the unofficial name for a candy that will powerful effects once cleared and matched. Upon activation, its power will destroy more candies and yield a much greater score than a simple match of three. They can also be matched when just 2 special candies are side-by-side; the match will produce a very powerful effect much stronger than if they are activated separately.

These are all special candies and their combinations in Candy Crush Soda Saga. Each has its own effect, which can help a player pass a level.

cyan wrapped candy	Wrapped Candy	Clears the surrounding eight candies, activates twice.	5 or 6 candies of the same color in T or L shape
Color bomb	Color Bomb	Clears all candies of the color you matched it with.	5 candies of the same color in a row/column
Light blue coloring candy	Coloring Candy	Transforms all candies of the color you matched it with to its color.	6 candies of the same color in a T shape

Special Candy Combinations

If the player joins any 2 special candies next to each other, they will cause an even better effect. The following shows the effect of some combos.

Striped Candy	Striped Candy	+	Clears the row and column where the candies were joined. Effect is independent of the direction of the stripes.
Wrapped Candy	Wrapped Candy	+	Clears a 5x5 square of candies around where the candies were joined, activates twice.
Candy Fish	Candy Fish	File:Green Fish.png+File:Green Fish.png	Activates 3 candy fish.
Striped Candy	Wrapped Candy	+	Creates a 3x3 striped candy that clears the 3 rows and 3 columns around the tile where it was created.
Striped Candy	Candy Fish	+File:Green Fish.png	Creates a striped fish that targets one candy and clears the row or column the target candy was on.
Wrapped Candy	Candy Fish	+File:Green Fish.png	Creates a bomb fish that targets and blows up the surrounding 8 candies around the target candy.
Striped Candy	Color Bomb	+	Converts all of the candies in the striped candy's color to a striped candy, then they all activate.
Wrapped Candy	Color Bomb	+	Converts all of the candies in the wrapped candy's color to wrapped candy, then they all activate.
Candy Fish	Color Bomb	File:Green Fish.png+	Converts all of the candies in the candy fish's color to candy fish, then they all activate.
Color Bomb	Color Bomb	+	Blows all candies off the screen and hits all blockers once.
Striped Candy	Coloring Candy	+	Major Effect: all regular candies on the board that are the same color as the mixed striped and coloring candy will turn into striped candies and be activated right away (for a full description of the effect, see the Coloring Bomb page).
Wrapped Candy	Coloring Candy	+	Major Effect: all regular candies on the board that are the same color as the mixed wrapped and coloring candy will turn into wrapped candies and be activated right away (for a full description of the effect, see the Coloring Bomb page).
Candy Fish	Coloring Candy	File:Green Fish.png+	Major Effect: all regular candies on the board that are the same color as the mixed fish and coloring candy will turn into fish and be activated right away (for a full description of the effect, see the Coloring Candy page).
Color Bomb	Coloring Candy	+	The Rainbow Kimmy appears and then an explosion destroys all candies and blockers on the screen (see exceptions for honey blocks and bubble gums in the Coloring Candy page).
Coloring Candy	Coloring Candy	+	The Rainbow Kimmy appears, and the color of all candies on the board transforms into that of the selected coloring bomb.

Trivia

Combining Color Bomb + Coloring Candy was redesigned after some players said that combination was similar like combining two color bombs.
Combining Color Bomb with Wrapped candies in Candy Crush Saga was the same as one in Candy Crush Soda Saga after Taffy Treetops was released (create many wrapped candies in the same colour).
